The majority of the cottages are for couples, with a lesser number for single occupancy. There are no occupational or geographic limits.
If desired by a cottager, a small garden plot is made available for personal use, and those who are able and willing help the warden to keep the
grounds in order.
Every effort is made to avoid an 'institutional' atmosphere. The cottages are treated as the occupants private homes where they can come and
go as they please, and have their own family and

friends visiting them at will, and the bowling green, pavilion and grounds provide facilities for the cottagers to meet amongst themselves and
with others.
The close knit design of the complex together with a policy of encouraging communication between the cottages results in a strong communal
spirit.
